The Grand Canyon - Part 1

September 5, 2009

As a family outing my dad took us all to see and visit The Grand Canyon. This was my very first time to The Grand Canyon, my other two sisters Leslie and Tepori had already been there because of their Elementary school.

We left about four oclock in the morning to beat the traffic and ended up in Williams, AZ around seven oclock. Our boarding time on the train wasn't until nine thirty. So to kill time, we gassed up, went and got Mickey D's, my dad bought a dart gun from the swap meet, and then we just went and bought stuff from the gift shop. Geez, no wonder why they make a fortune off of tourist, their stuff is expensive and not even worth the amount of money. Then we loaded on to our train. Each section of the train had a name for it like, Anazi, Chief, A, C, and many others I don't remember, the more expensive seats was like first class on an airplane and the Letter Train Section was like coach on the airplane. We basically had to bring our own food and water. The train ride was two and half hours long. It was nice for some of the parts because of the pretty view we had but there where other parts that where nothing but miles and miles of nothing. From the moment we started the train we had tons of wayvers all along the way, it was very cute and fun. The hardest part about trying to sleep on the train was nearly impossible, for starters their was no available room, plus bless their souls, we had tons of rows of handicap adults that where shouting and screaming the whole way so that didn't work, and then their was the performers and the photographers all along the way. Oh by the way, the weather in Williams AZ was absolutely gorgeous. It was cool and sprinkling. I loved it, I could live here forever if the weather was like this year round.

Hina this looks like a blast! I only visited the Grand Canyon once when I was 8. Your Jack is getting so big, I can't believe he's already wearing a size 7 shoe! Wow! Jack is barley in Size 5, and I'm hoping he fits in his snow boots (size 6) by winter!

That sounds like fun! I haven't been to the Grand Canyon since I was little. I didn't know they had train rides there. Looks like a fun family vacay!
