After our long two hour and a half ride on the train we finally reached our destination. The Grand Canyon. The weather was absolutely perfect. The view was amazing and breath taking. Although, for a next visit with Jack, when he is older, we will plan for a trip from like Tuesday to Thursday. The place was packed with soooo many different tourist from all over the world. I also recommend that you bring yourself different foods and snacks if you want to make the trip inexpensive. Because we had three hours to kill, my dad thought it would be a great experience for all of us kids who haven't been here before to hike the canyon so that we get a feel for it. We hiked about 1 1/2 miles in and 1 1/2 miles out. The hike going in was great and we just flew down like it was nothing. However, the hike coming back up because it was all switch backs and downhill was not as easy as it was going down. Jefferson and Ammon my youngest brother totally walked the whole thing back up like it was nothing, they didn't even take a break, my other brother William stop a couple of times but was right behind the other two boys. Then there was me and my sister Tanya and my dad. My dad could have walked to whole thing up really fast but stayed behind to make sure Tanya and I didn't pass out. This hike definitely told me of how out of shape I am. Tanya and I took about twenty breaks before we finally reached the top. It was soooo hard for me to walk all uphill. But it was definitely a great work because I felt it the next day, and the experience of hiking the canyon was well worth it too. Next time tho I will rent horses instead. On our ride back on the train we got robbered, the train robbers from earlier came on the train just to put a show it was funny and then the marshall came and saved the day. Then we got Taco Bell for dinner and then drove home. We where all pretty exhausted from the day trip which I never recommend to do. All in all we had a great family trip and it was all worth it.

Such pretty pictures! Sounds like a killer hike! I don't know if I would be able to make it :) I'm a wimp when it comes to hiking!
Great pics, especially of you and Jeff. I'm impressed you even tried the hike...so not my thing:). It was a long day, but I'm sure it was just nice to hang with your family.
